Magnus (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a personal planning app for iPhone and iPad (“Magnus” or the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
By using Magnus, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Overview
Magnus helps you plan your day — calendar, habits, goals, workouts, meals, and wellness. Most of your data stays on your device. If you sign in with Apple and turn on iCloud sync, your planner data is stored in your private iCloud account, not on our servers.
We do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
3.1 Information you provide
- Account: If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple provides us a user identifier and optionally your name. We do not receive your Apple ID password.
- Profile & preferences: Name (optional, from onboarding), app settings, Today layout, workout and meal preferences.
- Planner content: Habits, goals, tasks, meals, workouts, notes, calendar blocks you create in Magnus.
- Commuter settings: Home/work locations and transit preferences you enter for commute features.
3.2 Information from your device (with your permission)
Magnus only accesses the following if you grant permission in iOS:

You can change or revoke these anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy or in Magnus → Settings.
3.3 Guest mode
You may use Magnus without signing in (“Use on this device only”). In guest mode, data is stored only on that device and is not synced to iCloud.
3.4 Information we do not collect
- We do not require an email address (unless you contact us).
- We do not run our own analytics or advertising trackers in the current beta.
- We do not upload your Apple Health data to our servers. Health data is read on-device from HealthKit when you allow it.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Display your schedule, habits, goals, workouts, meals, and Today dashboard
- Generate weekly workout and meal plan suggestions
- Show weather, news headlines, and market quotes
- Provide commute and transit information when configured
- Sync your planner data across your devices via iCloud (if enabled)
- Send local notifications you opt into
Where data is stored
- On your iPhone/iPad — default for all users; sole storage for guest mode
- iCloud — optional, when signed in with Apple and iCloud sync is enabled. Data is stored in your private iCloud Drive app container, protected by Apple’s encryption
- Apple Keychain — session information for Sign in with Apple
We do not operate a central database of your planner content.
Third-party services
Magnus may connect to third-party services to provide features. These services have their own privacy policies:

When you use recipe import, Magnus may fetch a URL you paste. We do not control third-party websites.
Requests to these services may include general information such as your IP address as part of normal internet communication.
Sharing of information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We may share information only:
- With Apple — as required for Sign in with Apple, iCloud, HealthKit, and other Apple frameworks you use
- With third-party APIs listed above — only what is needed to provide the feature (e.g. location coordinates for weather, a recipe URL you submit)
- If required by law — to comply with legal process or protect rights and safety
Household sharing features (if enabled) share data only with people you explicitly invite in the app.
Data Retention and deletion
Guest mode: Settings → Danger zone → Delete all data
Signed-in account:
- Reset all data — erases Magnus content but keeps you signed in
- Delete account — permanently removes your Magnus data from the device and iCloud, then signs you out
Health, calendar, and location permissions can be revoked in iOS Settings at any time.
Security
We use Apple’s platform security (Keychain, iCloud encryption, HTTPS for network requests). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we design Magnus to keep your data on your device and in your iCloud account rather than on our servers.
Children’s privacy
Magnus is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International users and region
Magnus is currently available to users with a United States App Store account. If you use the App outside the US with a US Apple ID, your data handling is still governed by this policy and applicable US law.
Beta Software
Magnus may be offered as a beta through TestFlight. Beta versions may change, contain bugs, or handle data differently as features evolve. We will update this policy when practices change materially.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Because most data is stored on your device or in your iCloud account, you can delete it directly in the App (see Section 8). For other requests, contact us at bkeeny8@gmail.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of Magnus after changes means you accept the updated policy.
